0364 ORDINANCE NO. 34 f AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FRACTIONAL LOTS 1 - 6, BLOCK 17 -A, THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF JACKSONVILLE, PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS FOR $12,000.00, LESS A GIFT BACK IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000.00; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, P. W. Dupree and Lorene Dupree, his wife, and C. S. Dupree and Grace , his wife, are the record owners of Fractional Lots 1 - 6, inclusive, Block 17 -A, Original Town of Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas, said lots being bounded by North Front Street, Center Street, North Spring Street and Hickory Street; WHEREAS, said property owners have offered to sell said property to the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas for $12,000.00 and then donate back to the City the sum of $2,000.00 from said sales proceeds; WHEREAS, it is desirable for the City to acquire said property for municipal purposes under said terms and conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that: SECTION ONE. The Mayor of the City of Jacksonville is hereby authorized and directed to purchase for the City said Lots One through Six, inclusive, Block 17 -A, Original Town of Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas for a purchase price of $12,000.00, with $2,000.00 of said sales proceeds being donated back to the City by the sellers of said property pur- suant to the offer to sell said property by said P. W. Dupree, Jr. and Lorene Dupree, his wife, and C. S. Dupree and Grace Dupree, his wife. SECTION TWO. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after its passage. This proposal was presented to the Council several months ago, but no definite action has to date been taken.
