ORDINANCE NO. d
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE PULASKI
COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas now provides finan-
cial assistance in the annual amount of $ «' to the Jacksonville
Health Center, Inc., a private non - profit corporation, so that said entity
might arrange for and provide public health services to the community;
WHEREAS, the Pulaski County Health Department proposes to extend
equal or better services to the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas upon receipt
of a like contribution from the City;
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the citizens of the City
of Jacksonville to provide health services through the Pulaski County Health
Department; and
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Health Center, Inc. is willing to relin-
quish its health care role to the Pulaski County Health Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANS4 S, that:
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas is
hereby authorized to enter into an agreement on behalf of the City with the
Pulaski County Health Department to provide for participation by the City
of Jacksonville in the operation by said department of health facilities in
the City at the current level or better and the Mayor is further authorized
to disburse appropriated health care funds to said Pulaski County Health
Department upon the completion of the merger of existing health care oper-
ations into the program of the Pulaski County Health Department.
SECTION 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens
of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to

exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately
after its passage.
