AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE JACKSONVILLE POLICE DEPART-
MENT TO ALLOW MAYOR JOHN HARDEN TO KEEP AS HIS SEPARATE
PROPERTY THE .357 CHROME PLATED PISTOL ISSUED BY THE
JACKSONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT; DECLARINt AN EMERGENCY
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Mayor John Harden has served honorably and faithfully
the City of Jacksonville for fourteen (14) years; and
WHEREAS, Mayor John Harden is to retire from service of the
City effective January 1, 1975; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas
has approved the gift to Mayor John Harden of the .357 chrome plated pistol,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
SECTION 1. The City of Jacksonville is hereby authorized and
directed to give to Mayor John Harden the .357 chrome plated pistol in honor
and appreciation for the fourteerf years of faithful and meritorious service
which he has provided.
SECTION 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens
of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after its
passage.
