0336 • • ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6A OF CRDINANCE NO. 201, PRO- VIDING FOR RECIPROCITY FOR OUT OF TOWN ELECTRICAL CON - TRACTORS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, certain Arkansas cities are not now giving reciprocity to electrical contractors licensed in the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANS4 S, That: SECTION 1. Section 6A of Ordinance No. 201 is hereby amended to read as follows: "A. No out of town person, firm or corporation shall be pe rmitted to install, alter or repair any electtical wiring, fixtures, devices or equip- ment operating at a potential of thirty volts or more in the city unless the following conditions are met: 1. He must present evidence that he is a licensed electrical con- tractor and either holds a master electrician's license or employs a master electrician licensed by the board of an Arkansas city that gives reciprocity to electrical contractors licensed by the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas. 2. He must present evidence that all journeymen electricians em- ployed by him to do work within the city limits are licensed by the board of an Arkansas city that gives reciprocity to electrical contractors licensed by the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas. 3. He must pay to the city clerk of the city of Jacksonville an electrical contractor's license fee of fifty dollars. 4. He must file a bond in accordance with Section 8 of Ordinance No. 201. B. Any person meeting the above requirements shall be issued a license for his classification by the board of electrical examiners of the city of Jacksonville upon payment of the renewal fee herein prescribed. C. All persons who cannot meet the above requirements must take and pass the local examination for a master and /or journeyman electrician's license." Page Two 1 SECTION 2. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after its passage.
