ORDINANCE NO. `\)\ I
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 129 AND ORDINANCE NO.
25, AMENDMENT 4, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORD AINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACK -
SONVILLE, ARKANSAS, That:
SECTION 1. Section Three of Ordinance No. 129 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 3. All applicants for a license to do business as a pro-
fessional bondsman in the Municipal Court of this City shall provide proof of
moral character and reputation sufficient to qualify one for a state bondsman's
license and in the event the applicant is a firm, all members thereof shall be
held to the same proof of moral character and reputation as is required of
individuals. All applicants must be citizens and residents of Pulaski County,
Arkansas and at least twenty -one (21) years of age and of sound mind."
SECTION 2. Section 4B of Ordinance No. 129 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"SECTION 4B. A certificate as to the moral character and reputa-
tion of the applicant; and of all members of the firm if the applicant be a
firm."
SECTION 3. Section 159 of Amendment No. 4 to Ordinance No.
25 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 15.B. No license or permit to operate the business of pawn
broker shall be granted to the following persons: (a) any person under the age
of 21 years; (b) any person not a citizen of the United States; and (c) any person
who has not complied with the laws of the State of Arkansas governing the laws
of such business or who has had his pr rmit or license for such business revoked
within two years prior thereto."
SECTION 4. This ordinance is necessary to insure the peace,
health and safety, therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordi-
