AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO, 114 AND CONTINUING THE
EXISTENCE OF A CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACK- i
SONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
e. SECTION 1. Pursuant to Arkansas Statutes Annotated, there shall
be and hereby is continued a Civil Service Commission in and for the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas, composed of five (5) citizens of the city, who shall
be appointed by the City Council, and shall have the duties, powers and func-
tions as prescribed by State law.
SECTION 2. All members of the Civil Service Commission shall
serve in such capacity without salary and any members currently serving in
such capacity on the Civil Service Commission previously created by Ordinance
No. 114, shall continue in office for the duration of their current terms.
SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 114 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. For the immediate preservation of the public peace,
/ health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
shall take effect immediately after its passage and approval.
