AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NOS. 5, 43, 108A, 149, 195, 211
AND 309, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 268 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACK-
SONVILLE, ARKANSAS, That:
SECTION 1. Ordinances Numbered 5, 43, 108A, 149, 195, 211
and 309 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. The last paragraph of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 268
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Before an order to turn on water shall be issued, each new customer
for water service shall place upon deposit with the City Water Department, a
sum (meter deposit) corresponding with the meter deposit rate for the meter
size in place or to be placed on the water service line of the new customer; this
meter deposit to be returned to the customer, less any amount due for water
and sewer service, upon discontinuing such service. The minimum meter rate
shall be $15.00 for meters ranging in size from 5/8" to 3/4 ". Meter deposit
rates for larger size meters shall be levied at the discretion of the City, based
upon the size meter used or to be used, and whenever it is necessary to move
a water meter, either at the request of a customer, or because a customer
builds, constructs or permits anything which would in any way interfere with
or cover a meter,there shall be levied a charge of $50.00 or the actual cost
of moving said meter, whichever amount is greater."
SECTION 3. For the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
take effect immediately after its passage and publication as provided by law.
