1421 ORDINANCE NO. 1421 (#09 - 11)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING JACKSONVILLE MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NOS. 213 AND 238;
RENAMING A PORTION OF WALNUT STREET TO ALLEN LANE; FOR PROPERTY USE PROVISIONS
AND DESIGNATIONS; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, because of the development of the Immanuel Family Worship Center and the changes
in the development of that portion of the street now known as Walnut Street between South Spring Street and
South Oak Street, members of the public have sought a name change. To eliminate confusion, honor Pastor
Ricky Allen's service to our community, and aid visitors to the area in locating the church's facilities, the
Jacksonville City Council deems it appropriate to rename a portion of Walnut Street to Allen Lane.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The following designation of Allen Lane shall hereafter be utilized as the
official and proper name for the portion of the street now commonly known as Walnut Street located between
South Spring Street and South Oak Street in the City of Jacksonville (General Location: The 100 -200 blocks
of Walnut Street lying between South Spring and South Oak Streets). The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
directed to notify all appropriate parties of said modification and to insure inclusion of said modification on the
next issue of any City maps and /or telephone directories.
SECTION TWO: All Ordinances, parts of Ordinances, or previous actions taken by said
Council in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION THREE: It is hereby ascertained and declared that efficient statements and
designations of the streets and byways of the City are needed, and passage of this Ordinance will insure said
provisions. Therefore, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after September 1, 2011.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS I DAY OF JULY, 2011.
