0297 ORDINANCE NO. 02 5 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF ABANDONED PERSONAL PROPERTY AND FOR THE STANDARDS OF CARE FOR THE APPEARANCE OF RESIDENTIAL PREMISES LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 86; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, That: SECTION ONE. Ordinance No. 86 of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is hereby amended to add the following provisions thereto: "SECTION 1(a). It shall be unlawful for the owner or occupant of a residential building, structure or property to utilize the premises of such resi- dential property for the open storage of any abandoned motor vehicle, ice box, refrigerator, stove, glass, building material, building rubbish or similar items. It shall be the duty and responsibility of every such owner or occupant to keep the premises of such residential property clean and to remove from the premises all such abandoned items as listed above, including but not limited to weeds, dead trees, trash, garbage, etc., upon notice from the City Building Inspector or City Health Officer. "SECTION 1(b). For the purpose of this section, an abandoned motor vehicle is defined as one that is in a state of disrepair and incapable of being moved under its own power. "SECTION 1(c). All abandoned vehicles removed from residential ; L (�s premises under the provisions of this ordinance shall be stored and disposed � �, V' according to the provisions of Ordinance #145 of the City of Jacksonville Arkansas." SECTION TWO. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance, being necessary for the public safety, health and welfare of the citizens of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full ORD.
