AN ORDINANCE RECOGNIZING SUNDAY, JULY 1$, 1971 AS THE SECOND
ANNUAL RE- ENACTMENT OF THE BATTLE OF REED'S BRIDGE; SUSPENDING
CITY ORDINANCE NO. 7; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO ETTST AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
ZREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas takes pride in
again hosting the Second Annual Re- enactment of the Battle of
Reed's Bridge;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. That Sunday, July 1$, 1971 is officially recognized
as the date of the Second Annual Re- enactment of the Battle of
Reed's Bride; that Ordinance No. 7 of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas prohibiting the discharge of firearms within the city
limits is hereby suspended for the purpose of permitting the afore-
said battle to take place and all other ordinances of the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas conflicting with the aforesaid battle re-
enactment are hereby suspended for the same purpose, said ordinances
to be in full force and effect for all other purposes.
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary to preserve the
public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage and approval.
