ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING AND POSTPONING THE COLLECTION OF THE TEN PER
CENT TAX ON GROSS PROCEEDS OF PRIVATE CLUBS UNTIL 1971; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, That:
Section 1. The provisions of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 221
of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, dated November 26, 1969 are
hereby waived for the calendar year 1970 so that permittees under
Act 132 of the 1969 Arkansas General Assembly doing business in the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas shall not be liable for any supplemental
tax upon the gross proceeds or gross receipts derived by said per -
mittee from the sale or dispensation of alcoholic beverages. This
waiver shall be in effect until December 31, 1970, at which time
said permittees shall again be subject to the provisions of Section
2 of said Ordinance No. 221.
Section 2. All laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent necessary to give effect hereto.
Section 3. This Ordinance being necessary to preserve the
public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage and approval.
