0188 ORDINANCE NO. 188
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 127, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO
EXIST, AND FUR ALL OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, city - aster patrons residing in the Green Acrea- 4fadden
Road area are currently paying an extra service charge in the amount of
One Dollar ($1.00) per month, as authorized by Ordinance Number 127 for
the purpose of financing construction of a water system le eaid area;
NOW, TBERFYORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. That all additional charges of One Dollar ($1.00) es
authorized and provided fur in Ordinance Number 127 are hereby cancelled,
repealed, set aside, and shall forever be held for naught, retroactive to
February 1, 1967, and all other provisions of Ordinance Number 127 are
hereby repealed.
Section 2. Rates for mater service and methods of payment
thereof for residents of that area heretofore described in Ordinance Number
127 shall be those which are presently in effect in all other areas within
said City of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Section 3. The provisions of this Ordinance are intended to be
separate and severable, and the holding of any portion hereof to be invalid,
shall not affect the other. portions.
Section 4. That this Ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens
of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this Ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after its passage.
