AN ORDINANCE FOR THE T'URP0SE OF ASSESSING FIVE MILS AND
THREE AND ONE -RALF M'IL'S, TOTALING EIGWT AND ONE -HALF (8#)
MILL TAX AGAINST PERfOMAL AND REAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE _
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE., ARKANSAS, FOR
THE YEAR 1965.
Iihereas, it is necessary to meet current obligations and expenses of
the City, to levy upon all real and personal property within the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas, a tax of five (5) mills to be collected with the
taxes collected in the year 1966: and
Whereas,, an Ordinance numbered 113, dated December', 1960, was
passed by the Gity Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
authorizing and the issuance of bonds for the purpose of acquiring a
site for, construction and equipping :a ' Municipal hosital, levying a
tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest of such bonds: and
Whereas, it is necessary, in order to pay the bonds, together with
interest thereon, to levy upon all real and personal property within the
City of Jacksonville , Arkansas, a continuing special. tax of three and
one -half (32) mills to be collected with the taxes collected in the year 1966:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That a tax of eight and one -half (8i) mills one each dollar
of assessed valuation of all real and personal property within the City
of Jacksonville, Arkansas, be and the same is hereby levied by the City
Council of the City of Jacksonville, to be collected with the taxes
collected in the year 1966.
SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance be delivered by
the Gity Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, to the County Clerk
of Pulaski County, Arkansas, whose duty it shall be to extend said eight
and one -half (82) mills tax against all real and personal property
assessments made against properties within the corporate limits - Of the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance mill be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
