ORDINANCE FOR TIC PURPOSE OF CLOSING AND VACATING BROWN
STREET FRO +I THE SOUTH LINE OF POPLAR STRAUT TO THE SOUTH
LINE OF SANDERS ADDITION, REVISED, TO THE CITY OF JACK-
SONVILLE, ARKANSAS.
Whereas, a petition was duly filed with the City
Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, on the 19th
day of August, 1965, asking the City Council to vacate and
abandon all that portion of the street designated on the
plat of the Sanders Addition, Revised, to said city, now
appearing of record in Plat Book 5, page 64, in the office
of the Recorder of Pulaski County, beginning at the south
line of Poplar Street and ending at the south line of
Sanders Addition, Revised.
Whereas, after due notices as required by law, the
council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and
has ascertained that the portion of said street, herein -
before described, has heretofore been dedicated to the
public use as a street herein described; has not been
actually used by the public generally for a period of at
least five years subsequent to the filing of the plat;
that all the owners of the property abutting upon the
portion of the street to be vacated have filed with the
Council their written consent to such abandonment; and
that public interest and welfare will not be adversely
affected by the closing and vacating of such street.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, to-
gether with the rights of the public generally, in and
to the street designated as follows:
Brown Street from the south line of Poplar Street
to the south line of Sanders Addition, Revised,
to the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Section 2. A copy of the ordinance duly certified
by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the
recorder of the county and recorded in the deed records
of the county.
Section ;. This ordinance shall taste effect and
be in force from and after its passage.
