AN ORDINANCE FOR THE PROTECTION CF WILD FOWL, WILD LIFE
AND OTHER CAME, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE DESTRUCTION
THEREOF, WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKAR3AS
WHEREAS, the existence of birds and other wild fowl, rabbits,
squirrels, deer and other forms of wild game add beauty and enjoyment
to life in Jacksonville, Arkansas; and
• S,IIIEREAS, it is desirous by the citizens of the City of Jacksonville,
that such wild fowl, wild life and game be allowed to live peacefully
in the City Park and within other areas of the City of Jacksonville;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY ME CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIY
OF JACKSONVILLE: THAT " /,f
SECTION 1. That on and after the passage of this Ordinance it
shall be unlawful for any person to hunt, chase, shoo» wound, k111,

net, trap, snare, or in any manner whatsoever catch any deer, beaver,
otter, bear, elk, bu,alo,.,,squirrel, wild rabbit, or any other wild
fur bearirg animal, prairie chicken, wild turkey, partridge, quail,
dove, wild goose, wild duck, coot, gallinule, snipe, woodcock, homing

pigeon, songbird, or any other wild bird within the city limits of the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and
SECTION 2. That any person violating the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall
be fined in any sum not less than ten ($10.00) dollars nor more than
Two Hundred ($200.00) dollars, or shall be imprisoned for not more than
w sixty (60) days in the city jail, or shall be both fined and imprisoned.
^.) SECTION 3. That an emergency is hereby declared to exist in pre-
serving the aforementioned fowl and game, and due to such emergency,
- z this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after its
passage.
