OPENING REMARKS: Chairman Bart Gray Jr. opened the meeting and expressed appreciation for those in attendance.
ROLL CALL:
Commissioners: Rudy Reid, Jim Dornblaser, Kenny Elliott, and Lester Piggee answered ROLL CALL. Vice Chairman Gray answered ROLL CALL and declared a quorum. PRESENT five (5), ABSENT
(3).
Others present for the meeting were City Attorney Robert E. Bamburg, City Engineer Duane Reel, Deputy City Clerk Susan Davitt, Engineering Receptionist Marci Wilson, and petitioners.

ATTENDANCE: Chairman Bart Gray Jr., City Attorney Robert Bamburg, City Engineer Duane Reel, OECD Director Phil Sullivan, Alderman Kenny Elliott, Planning Commissioners Rudy Reid, Mark
Perry and Jack Patton, Mr. Jim Dornblaser, Attorney Ben Rice, City Clerk Lula M. Leonard, and Guest, Mrs. Betsy McGuire from Russellville.
Chairman Bart Gray Jr. opened the meeting expressing appreciation for those in attendance welcoming Mrs. Betsy McGuire who made a presentation with slides and posters of improvements
to Main Street Russellville.
During her presentation she offered suggestions on ways to get the job done!
1. Encourage, don't dictate with regard to rigid design.
2. Include residential housing in downtown.
3. Get local people to buy into the process which she said is the key to Main Street Progress.
4. Create two-story buildings.
5. Take the following into consideration in revitalization of downtown; (a) the smell of food, (b) people on the street, and (c) the sound of water.
Her presentation included photographs of the improvements in the City of Russellville as well as drawings which were suggestive of things that could be accomplished in the revitalization
process.
She invited the committee to visit Russellville for a tour of the downtown area.
Chairman Gray expressed appreciation for the presentation and encouraged committee members to think about the invitation and plan for the tour.
