SPECIAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
JANUARY 29, 1996
7:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
OPENING REMARKS:
Chairman Gray opened the meeting and expressed appreciation for those in attendance.
ROLL CALL:
Commissioners: Rudy Reid, Jim Dornblaser, Mark Perry, and Art Brannen answered ROLL CALL. Chairman Bart Gray, Jr. also answered ROLL CALL and declared a quorum. PRESENT Five (5),
ABSENT (4).
Others present for the meeting were City Attorney Robert E. Bamburg, Deputy City Clerk Susan L. Davitt, City Engineer Duane Reel, Engineering Receptionist Marci Wilson, Attorney Mike
Wilson, Alderman Emma Knight, and petitioners.
PUBLIC HEARINGS: 7:00 P.M.
REZONING of a parcel containing .75 acres located at 2500 T.P. White Drive (owned by Mr. Buford Latta and legally described in the Jacksonville Planning Commission minutes of December
11, 1996)
Chairman Gray opened the public hearing at approximately 7:06 p.m. and requested input regarding the request for rezoning.
Mr. Mike Wilson, representing Mr. Buford Latta, the petitioner, declined to offer any comments.
There was no other person present who spoke against the rezoning.
The public hearing was closed at approximately 7:08 p.m. with no opposition to the rezoning being expressed.
Commissioner Brannen moved, seconded by Commissioner Dornblaser to recommend to the City Council the rezoning of the property, legally described in the minutes of the December 11, 1996
minutes of the Regular Planning Commission Meeting and owned by Mr. Buford Latta containing .75 acres, from C-1 to C-2. MOTION CARRIED.
NON-AGENDA DISCUSSION:
Commissioner Dornblaser expressed concerns regarding the following listed items and requested that the Planning Commission discuss them at future meetings.
(1) Bill of Assurance at the time of Preliminary Plat presentation
(2) Tree removal

(3) Setbacks with regard to street classification
(4) Horses within the City limits
Commissioner Brannen related that efforts in annexation are progressing.
Chairman Gray pointed out that he is trying to coordinate meetings with Metroplan which will be informative especially to the new members of the Commission.

At this time Chairman Gray adjourned the meeting at approximately 7:40 p.m.
