AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE TEE USE OF AND PRESERVE WATER OF THE "
PUBLIC WATER WORKS OF TIE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARELNSAS, TO
PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
1WRPEAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, owns and operates a Public Water Works System
to furnish water, under certain provisions, rules and regulations, to the citizens of the
City of Jacksonville, Arkanssei end,
WHEREAS, the operation of water - cooled refrigeration and other equipment for changing the
dry -tn1.d temperature, or the humidity of tho air has rapidly increased end now Involves the
use of water in quantities never before anticipated, thereby plaoing unexpected burdens on
the public water supply system which are detrimental to other Glasses of motor service,
AN WHEREAS. in the interest of the public and its water supply system, it is noaessary to
regulate the use of water for such purposes and to require conservation of water and
elimination of waste,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED THAT:
SECTION 1. After the date of passage of thin ordinance, not` person. firm or
corporation shell install a water - 000led condenser end /or water-cooled machinery which
dons not have as a part of its equipment a circulating pump and cooling tower.
SECTION 2. That the building and erection of the Water Towers, as provided in
Section 1 hereof, shall be constructed or erected so as to we the requirements. and under
the supervision, and to be inspected and approved by the City Plumbing Inspector and by
the Manager of the Jacksonville Water System of the City 'of Jaoksonville, Arkansas, before
put into nee or operation.
SECTION 3. Any person, persons, firms or corporations violating the provisions of
this Ordinance shall be denied use of water from the Jacksonville Water System of the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, until said Ordinaries shall be fully complied with in the
nee of water for auoh refrigeration and/or cooling system. •
SECTION ie. All ordlnnnoes and parte of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance '-
are hereby repealed, and this Ordinance shall be In full force and offeot- lsnediately •
upon its passage.
