ORDINANCE NO~ 961 (#24-91)
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PURCHASING FOURTEEN CLASS 11-85 LIGHT POLES FOR THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND, FOR OTHER
PUR,POSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Jacksonville to
purchase fourteen (14) 85 foot (85r) Class 11-85 light poles
for the Parks and Recreation Department to use as part of the
Dupree Park Expansion Project; and,
WHEREAS, there is only one (1) supplier of these light
poles who currently has the necessary poles in stook to insure
that construction is not delayed, that being Colfax Creosoting
Company of Pineville, Louisiana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:

purchasing fourteen (14) 85 foot (85') Class II-85 light poles
would be costly and non-productive, making said competitive
bidding unfeasible and impractical.

the purpose of purchasing fourteen (14) 85 foot (85') Class
11-85 light poles for the Dupree Park Expansion Project..
Authorization is hereby given to Annabelle Davis, Department
Head for the Parks and Recreation Department~ to enter into a
contract with Colfax Creosoting Company of Pineville,
Louisiana, to purchase said poles at a price of One Thousand,
Seven Hundred Seventy and 00/100 Dollars ($1,770.00 per pole,
for a total price of Twenty five Thousand, Seven Hundred
Seventy-one and 20/100 Dollars ($25,771.20), which includes
delivery and other applicable charges.
