0939IN ORDINANCE NO. 939 (#2-91) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE FEES FOR GARBAGE AND TRASH COLLECTION WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 636 AND 642; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, to make the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Sanitation Department services self supporting, an increase in rates is required to offset the rising costs of solid waste disposal. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION ONE: Ordinance Nos. 636 and 842, codified as Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 8.20.020, are hereby amended and modified to include the following prescribed fees for collection of garbage and trash refuse within the corporate city limits by the City's Sanitation Department: A. Eight and no/100 Dollars ($3.00) for each single family residence per month. B. Eight and no/100 Dollars ($8.00) for each mobile home space per month. C. Eight and no/100 Dollars ($8.00) for each residential unit of each duplex and/or apartment building (multi -family property) per month. SECTION TWO: All other prescribed fees within Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 8.20.020 not specifically modified herein shall remain in full force and effect and are not amended by the terms and conditions of this Ordinance. SECTION THREE: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION FOUR: Because of immediate financial demands, Jacksonville's Sanitation Department must be self supporting. To do so, it is imperative that the above prescried increase in fees included be implemented immediately. Therefore, to promote public health and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its date of passage, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 3rd — DAY OF JANUARY, 1991.
