AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION, AMENDING
ORDINANCE' NUMBER 381, ADDING CHAPTER 8.48 TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THA T :
SECTION 1. There is hereby added to the Municipal Code
of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Chapter 8.48, which reads as follows:

EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION

8.48.01 Established
There is hereby established the Emergency Services Division.
8.48.02 Supervision
The general operation of the Division will be under the manage-
ment, supervision and direction of the Emergency Services Division
Coordinator, who will work with both the Police Chief and Fire
Chief concerning their respective personnel.
8.48.03 Staffed
The personnel of the Divison shall be composed of members
of the Jacksonville Police Department, the Jacksonville Fire
Department, and any other members so approved by the Mayor and
City Council.
8.48.04 Cooperation
The Emergency Services Division shall work in cooperation
with the Rebsamen Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
8.48.05 Charges
The charges to be paid for use of the Emergency Services
Division shall be as follows:
Base Charge - $35.00 for emergency service.
Mile~ge- $1~50 per patient mil~out-side the city limits;
Plus the cost of medications & supplies (replacement cost
per item).
8.48.06 Area of Operation
The Emergency Services Division shall furnish emergency medical

services to the citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
on an emergency basis and may extend emergency ambulance
services to adjoining areas or towns outside of the city limits
of Jacksonville, Arkansas, upon the recommendation of the Mayor
and with the approval of the City Council.
8.48.07 PaYIUents
Charges made for emergency services shall be paid to the
Jacksonville Police Department, Emergency Services Division.
8.48.08 Supplemental Rules
Rules, regulations and procedures for the operation of
the Emergency Services Division, and the payments of accounts
due shall be established by the Emergency Services Division
Advisory Council, subject to the approval of the City Council.
SECTION 2. All ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
