AN ORDINANCE SETTING LEGAL HOLIDAYS; AMENDING ORDINANCES NUMBER
189, 319, AND 419; AND AMENDING SECTION 2.44.070 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF JACKSONVILLE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSON-
VILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Ordinances No. 189, 319, and 419" and Section
2.44.070 of the Jacksonville Municipal Code are amended to read
as follows:
Chapter 2.44
EMPLOYEE LEAVE POLICyll
Section:
2.44.070
Legal holidays.
The following days, and none other, are declared to be legal
holidays:
New Year's Day, January 1;
Robert E. Lee's Birthday, January 19;
George Washington's Birthday, the third Monday In
February;
Memorial Day, the last Monday in May;
Independence Day, July 4;
Labor Day, the first Monday in September;
Veteran's Day, November 11;
Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday and following
Friday in November;
Christmas Day, December 25; and
Employee's birthday.
SECTION 2. All ordinances before mentioned are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3. EMERGENCY CLAUSE APPROVED AND ADOPTED.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 5th DAY OF APRIL , 1979.
