ORDINANCE NO. 6 40
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, OF CERTAIN LANDS IN PULASKI COUNTY,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. (VALENTINE-DICK JETER AREA)
WHEREAS, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, on
certain dates reflected upon the minutes of the County Court,
upon the petitions of certain persons owning property affected,
after due notice of said hearing upon said petitions for the
time and in the manner prescribed by law, 9rdering the annex-
ation to the City of Jacksonville of those certain lands here-
inafter described and continguous to the present limits of
the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
Section 1: That the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, act-
ing through its City Council, does hereby approve and accept
for annexation and does hereby make a part of the incorporated
area of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, the following
described real property, to-wit:
Certain properties in Section 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9,
Township 2 North, Range 10 West, Pulaski County, Ar-
kansas, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast COTner of the North~
west Quarter .(NW~), of the Northwest Quarter (NW~ of
Section 6, Township 2 North, Range 10 West; thence
North 500 feet to a point; thence East, 1000 feet to
a point; thence South 400 feet to a point; thence
East, 1500 feet to a point; thence South 1900 feet to
a point; thence Southeasterly, parallel to Dick Jeter
Road, 750 feet, more or less, to a point; thence East,
1000 feet to a point which is 1600 feet north of the
southwest corner of Section 5, Township 2 North, Range
10 West; thence East, 1500 feet; thence South, 1300
feet to a point which is 300 feet north of the south
line of Section 5; thence East, parallel to the south
line of Section 5, 3700 feet, more or less, to a point
on the east line of Section 5; thence North, 600 feet;
thence East, 300 feet; thence South, 3200 feet; thence
West, 700 feet; thence North, 1900 feet to a point
which is 400 feet south of the north line of Section 8,
Township 2 North) Range 10 West; thence West, parallel
to said north line, 4800 feet, more or less, to a
point on the west line of Section 8, Township 2 North,
Range 10 West, which is 400 feet south of the north-
west corner of Section 8; thence Northwesterly, 5900
feet, more or less, to the point of beginning: contain-
ing 303 acres, more or less.
AND
All the public rights-of-way adjacent to the above
described lands.

Section 2: That it is, further ordained that the said lands
be and they are hereby assigned and attached to and made a part
of the Third Ward of the said City of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Section 3: All ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
