AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, OR CERTAIN
LANDS IN PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES (GEN. VICINITY/
DUPREE BROTHERS FARM)
WHEREAS, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, on certain
dates reflected on the minutes of the county court, upon the petitions of
certain persons owning all of the property affected, after due notice of
hearing upon the petitions for the time and in the manner prescribed by law,
ordered the annexation to the City of Jacksonville of those certain lands
hereinafter described and contiguous to the present limits of the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS,
THAT:
Section 1: That the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, acting through its
City Council, does hereby approve and accept for annexation and does
hereby make a part of the incorporated area of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, the following described real property, to-wit:
Section 34, T3N, R11W, except the following described property: The
W1/2 of the W1/2 of Section 34; the West 1037.54 feet of the E 1/2 of the W
1/2 of said Section 34; the South 1000 feet of the SE 1/4 SW 1/4; Begin
140.4 feet West of SE Corner of said Section 34 on the R/W line of U.S.
Hwy. 67, thence Northeasterly along said R/W line 150 feet, thence
Northwesterly at Right Angle to said R/W line 435.6 feet, thence
Southwesterly parallel to said R/W line 200 feet to the south line of said
Section 34, thence East along said South section line to the point of
beginning, also the Sewage Treatment, Ponds for Indianhead Lakes Estate. Total
acreage is 395.55 acres more or less.
The NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 3, T2N, R11W, 40 acres.
The E 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of Section 3, T2N, R11W, except the
following described lands:
Exception No.1
Begin 140.4 feet west of NE 1/4 of Section 3 on the R/W line of U.S.
Hwy. 67, thence Southwesterly along said R/W line 450 feet, thence
Northwesterly at right angles to said R/W line 435.6 feet, thence
Northeasterly parallel to said R/W line 400 feet to the north line of
said Section 3, thence East along said section line to the point of
beginning, containing 4.25 acres more or less;
Exception No. 2
Beginning at the southwest corner of SE 1/4 NE 1/4 of said Section 3;
thence N04 40' W, 153409 feet to the southerly right-of-way of U.S.
Highway 67; thence ~ 58 14' E, 136 feet along the southerly
right~of-way; thence N'57~ 26r E, 202.0 feet continuing a60ng said
right-of-way; tlsnce S 52 52' E, 483.4 feet; thence S 04 40' E, 1370.9
feet; thence S85) 30'W, 660 feet to the point of beginning, containing
23.77 acres, more or less.
Exception No. 3
A strip of land 300 feet wide across the NE 1/4 NE 1/4 for the U.S.
Highway 67 right-of-way containing 10.33 acres, more or less. Total
acreage to be annexed is 81.65 acres.

Railroad except the NE 1/4 NE1/4. Annexation acreage is 300 acres.
All of Section 35, T3N, R11W, less and except the following described

The SE 1/4 SE 1/4 of Said Section 35, T3N, R11W, containing 40 acres,
more or less.
Exception No. 2
A strip of land 300 feet wide across said section 35 (SW corner to NE
corner) for U.S. Highway 67 right~of-way, containing 46.83 acres, more
or l:ess.
Exception No. 3
That part of the NE 1/4 NE 1/4 Northeasterly from the center line of
the Bayou Meto, containing 8 acres, more or less. Annexation acreage
is 545 acres.
The S 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 36, T3N, R11W, containing 80
acres.
The NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 36, T3N, R11W, containing 40
acres.
That part of the S 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of Section 36, T3N, R11W, North
and ~ti/est"of the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, containing 32 acres, more or less.
That part of the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 36 lies north and
west of the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, containing 20 acres, more or less.

Section 3: That this ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and morale of the
citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is herepy
, declared to exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect
immediately after its passage.
