0521 GOO: GOO:t 13 RESOLUTION Na 521 ( #8 - 99) A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT AND APPRECIATION FOR MANY YEARS OF SERVICE AND DEDICATION BY VARIOUS RETIRING AND RETIRED EMPLOYEES OF THE PULASKI COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, a municipality within the Pulaski County Special School District, has enjoyed the benefits of dedication and work performed for many years by employees of the administration and staff of the School District; WHEREAS, various members of the team of educational professionals working for the School District are retiring this year after many years of outstanding performance in their capacities within the District, with prime examples being Bobby Lester as Superintendent, Gary Parson as Principal, and JoAnn Williamson as Teacher. Too many others from our Community are retiring or have retired from the District to name, but these three are representative of the high caliber of educators leaving or having left the Pulaski County Special School District; and, WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville hereby acknowledges and appreciates the invaluable contribution made to the young people educated in the Pulaski County Special School District by these and other educational professionals and wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION ONE: The City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, hereby recognizes and expresses its sincere appreciation for the many years of hard work, dedication, and service from those educators retiring and /or retired from the Pulaski County Special School District. Their invaluable service to the residents of the City of Jacksonville and surrounding communities have touched and benefited thousands of lives, ranging from the students taught or counseled, those students' family members, and to members of the general public. The City Council recognizes that an educator's role in life is not often a popular or financially beneficial one, but wishes for these and other educators like them to know that their years of dedicated service and hard work are truly appreciated and recognized by many. SECTION TWO: The City Council further encourages young people within the School District to select education as their career path and return to the Community as dedicated members of the teaching profession, following the examples set by the retiring (and retired) members of the educational profession honored herein. SECTION THREE: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS H� DAY OF JUNE, 1999.
