RESOLUTION NO. 602 ( #3 - 07)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH PULASKI
COUNTY, ARKANSAS, FOR PAYMENT OF A PROPORTIONAL SHARE
OF THE CERTAIN OPERATIONS AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE
COSTS OF THE JACKSONVILLE HEALTH UNIT OF THE PULASKI
COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR SUCH; AND,
PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville /Pulaski County Health Department has
been in operation for some time in a facility operated by the County;
WHEREAS, after review of the needs and desires of the Jacksonville
Community, the parties have agreed to jointly support the Jacksonville Health
Unit of the Pulaski County Health Department. Pulaski County will operate
the unit, and the City of Jacksonville shall contribute Eight and 276/1000
Percent (8.276 %) of the building maintenance and operation costs of the
Jacksonville Health Clinic; and,
WHEREAS, the clinic, operated by Pulaski County at 3000 North First
Street, Jacksonville, will provide a variety of services to the public to include,
but not be limited to, Maternity/Prenatal Care /Gynecological Services, WIC,
Nutritional Consultation Services, EPSDT, Child Health Services,
Immunizations, Tuberculosis Screening /Diagnosis/ Treatment, Aids /Std
Service, Sanitarian Services, Family Planning, and General Health Counseling
and Referral Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ON& Circumstances require the continued operation of
the Jacksonville Health Unit of the Pulaski County Health Department. It is
imperative that these services continue to be provided to the citizens of
Jacksonville.
SECTION TWO: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute an Agreement with Pulaski County under the terms and conditions
outlined herein and any and all other such documents necessary to
accomplish said purpose.
SECTION THREE: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION FOUR: This Resolution shall be in force and effect from
and after its date of passage.
