0599 RESOLUTION NO. 599 ( #12 - 06)
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE APPLICATION OF TRAILS
FOR LIFE GRANT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
TOURISM; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to provide public recreation
facilities for its local citizens and visitors, and the City wishes to apply for a
Trails for Life Grant through the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tounsm to
develop a Health and Fitness project for City;
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, understands that, if
granted funds for park development, the City must provide land, by lease or
ownership, upon which to develop the facilities; and,
WHEREAS, should the City be granted such funds, City officials agree to
sign a contract to provide the necessary resources to maintain this park and
facilities for a period of no less than fifteen (15) years.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, or his
duly designated representative, is hereby authorized to submit an application for
grant funding to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism under the
terms and conditions as authorized above.
SECTION TWO: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect
from and after its date of passage.
